Ann was in IAD flight ops today passing out "I VOTED NO!" wrist bands. I'm proudly wearing mine as we speak!

I am curious. Why is someone with 30 years at UAL still a first officer?

Probably for the same reason we have 30 year FOs at Delta.

It's not nice to poop in someone else's yard.

-C11 VC is a WB CA now

but...

-Seniority
-living in base
-financially secure
-because it's a choice our contract allows us to have
-because you still have time left to go to the left seat
-because you desire to upgrade on the same fleet when a certain seniority percentage threshold is met
-because you don't feel the 4th strip is needed to satisfy others

That is a STUPID question, Scott.

Don’t believe what your teacher told you about there being no stupid questions.

Why is someone within United so ignorant as to ask such a stupid question?

Ecclesiastical wisdom gleaned from deep reflection on profound grief and sorrow. Enjoy being foolish while you can. I mean that sincerely.

He’s a DL guy….guess he got tired of supporting our 4th floor managers so he wandered over to your thread.

Well someone with 30 years at Delta can generally hold any CA seat and depending on the equipment might well hold the exact sam trips for 30% more pay. There are a few like that at Delta. The majority failed upgrade and returned to the FO seat. If I were a FO I would feel that a 30 year pilot might not fully represent my issues and wants. I would probably want someone more representative of the demographic. On the other hand she might be a fantastic rep and gets elected with a 90%. It just comes off a bit odd.
