Default IAH Flight Training

Sorry to interrupt the many “TA Sucks” threads, just wondering if anyone can recommend a flight school or private instructor for initial flight training in the Houston area. Specifics on why you recommend them would be welcomed, too.

Oh, and the TA sucks.

Glad you said that. I was getting ready to attack. Just kidding.

Don’t know anything about IAH training. I always tell guys to buy Microsoft Flight Simulator FS2020. It’s like $60. You can also get a Thrustmaster HOTAS controller for about $60 at Best Buy. It’s a good introductory joystick. Turtle Beach has a fancier HOTAS setup for $360.

Both the FS2020 and the Thrustmaster will work on PC or XBOX Series X/S. FS2020 has flight lessons, etc. and will save you lots of money on training costs. Enjoy.

You might check out the Lone Star Aviators, and the Houston Aviators FB pages. You’ll likely get the information you are looking for there

I second this. Used MSFS many times over the years to run through flows and FMS work when on a new airframe using study level pay software. I know a guy right now running through instrument stuff while working on his instrument rating. He swears by it.
