That is true. But the reality is if HIS congress were to pass a law, POTUS would not veto it unless it was some really major policy issue for his personal platform.

If an opposition congress were to pass a law, veto is more likely but he would still think carefully about it so as not antagonize them over something trivial (age 67 is trivial in the grand scheme, especially if it's part of the DOT budget authorization). Even with an opposition congress, POTUS still needs to work with them a little in order to get anything done at all.

But my point wasn't age 67, since I don't really care either way, but rather that bureaucrats don't have the final say on this kind of thing. Remember the mask mandate? Same idea.

Unless the recent SCOTUS ruling (which we're not going to discuss here) changes the election landscape I think that's pretty obvious. But I think you're right, my wife was hugely PO'ed about SCOTUS but not nearly as PO'ed as she is about all the other crap going on. She's a lifelong liberal Dem, voted for Trump last time and would do it again if he ran again... she's going to be straight ticket red in Nov. So if she's any indication the economy, crime and all the other social issues are what matter this year.

An opposition congress might well add age 67 to the budget reauthorization just on principle, or maybe even do a stand-alone bill if they think it will get some attention (or like you said if A4A or RAA wants it for some reason).

News flash, they’re both the party of big business… it’s just a matter of which one it is. One is oil and energy, one is pharma and tech (censorship).

62% of millionaires donate to the dem party, there must be a reason.

Millionaires donate to both parties on the regular because millionaires look out for their own interests and donate to to those that serve their interests. Millionaires give to dems to save public face, they donate to reps to save their fortunes.

Congress is so crippled with petty partisan politics they can't even pass basic good for America bills like the one that brings microchip production onshore. Congress is useless. That's why we have the SCOTUS and executive branch legislating now.
FYI - I have seen announcements of 5 new chip plants to be built in the US (Arizona, Texas, and Ohio). Nothing about them required Congressional action.

Just look how much United donates to Democrats. You think that the party cares about the pilots more or the company giving them all the donations?

Not on your watch? Yeah, like it's your decision.

Good luck...

Bet everyone here who opposes 67 is under 60. Further, I bet these people didn’t lose a pension and 10 years of seniority progression.
