Inflation is running almost 10 percent per year. That isn’t even a raise in buying power. What are you smoking?

10% per, over how many years now? And what the historical average?

I agree that we deserve every cent that we can negotiate, but I’m not willing to lie to myself to justify it.

That’ll be a hard no. they’ll be back to lagging inflation from 2017 at DOS+2 and won’t have made any gains back towards contract 2000. 40% is the minimum for a 2 year deal. Each subsequent year has to have a double digit pay increase.

We’re also 3 years passed our amendable date so it’s more like 40 percent over 6 years. Nothing earth shattering.

This. Inflation since amenable date is nearing 20%. 25 DOS is entirely reasonable.

Management agree?

Clearly they’d rather give us 9%, but do you think they’re unaware of where inflation is? They’ve already adjusted their ticket prices accordingly. In that sense, they could make us even with inflation today & it wouldn’t cost them a dime & they know that’s true.

What ever the number is, I sure hope Delta does the heavy lifting so that we have something to use as the minimum acceptable standard when management eventually comes back to the table. To those easily triggered, it’s sarcasm……. Sort of.

Thoughts on a timeline? I think their NC, management, and mediators are meeting this week.

No clue. I’m wondering how the Max certification issues and potential new crew bases affect UAL’s urgency for a deal. If vacancies in more desirable bases significantly cut down unfilled captain vacancies system wide, I can see why they’d wait for someone else to force them to sign a more expensive labor contract. Considering the increases that we expect (industry wide), I’d be pleased if we have something worth voting on by this time next year.
