Never done anything but lowly volunteer work at the local level. I came to UAL to fly planes. Nothing more nothing less. Not sure what you’re implying. Because I think Neil will be a great MC I’m now a union groupie or something? Read any of my posts, I’m pretty anti 94.5 types. For years even our MC stayed current. It was Todd that completely bloated the flight loss ranks like the NASC and a communications Chair on 94.5 for his once every other month MEC message etc etc.
I’ve known Neil for over 25 yrs. I think he’s the right guy for where we are in our contract cycle. I want him to help us secure the best contract. What’s your motive?

I’m not here to celebrate the win. I think the pilot group won getting someone who’s been a line pilot for the last 15 plus years as the new MC. The only other candidate our LEC (171) told us about was another ALPA full time guy who worked under Insler. If Rick had won I’d like to think I would have at least had the decency to not trash him before he’s done anything more than sending out a letter giving our pilot group his direction.
I personally find it sad that we just had arguably the worst MC in UAL history (this was Todd’s TA as well all know since we were told 95% was done under his watch with his NC) that was voted down by a historic 94% no vote, and yet when the MEC goes in a different direction and gets a hardcore loudmouth unionist, their are people up in arms as wells. 94% voted for a change. Reps were recalled because we wanted change. We get change and what happens? The vocal minority slams him before he has 24 hrs in office. And then people wonder why UAL never gets anyone elected as ALPA National President. Things that make you go hmmmm…….

Sorry as well for being snarky. I knew the 41k had to be a typo. It was uncalled for I’m just disappointed today in some of our pilot group for wanting to hang Neil when he hasn’t had a chance to prove himself in either direction.

Ever thought maybe nobody wanted the job? Look at how the person is roasted. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to volunteer for it. It’s ready, fire aim around this place. At least wait for a person to screw up the job before we call for his head.

The screenshots in the article certainly point to an individual who is pretty extreme in his views. Is that why the vote was 9-8 and triggered the resignation of the 171 VC this morning?

I think HR is going to start digging for stuff on Him now that a flashlight is on him… if you haven’t done CQDL yet he hits pretty much all the stuff United says not to do. I’m not on the forum where this stuff was taken from in that hit piece blog… but he has 10s of thousands of posts for them to sift through to dig up inappropriate comments. I don’t think he will last long as the MC… social media is going to go crazy and this will start to impact his family when people start talking behind their backs. MEC should have known better because his social media persona is well known and out there to see.
