They’d need to build in at least 30 hours rest in 7… so your question really isn’t relevant. But Sure if it were legal… if they paid me appropriately (140-150 hours credit time?) I’d do it on some months for $45K (756CA rate).

Playing golf 3-4 times a week while carrying my cell is not what I consider work… and I make a $hit ton of money doing it. So I get called 25% of time and curtail my golf round… big whoop.

sucks for commuters, though, which a large portion of the pilots are.

and don’t say “just move to Jersey!” Because I can’t even remotely afford it and my wife would hate it.

The logic of this statement makes absolutely no sense to me.

You don’t want to make RSV better than being a line holder. Why not? RSV will go senior and why is that a bad thing? Something has to be senior, why are you gonna draw a line in the sand and worship the line

I am not sure that the goal is to make reserve senior.

I would describe it as closing the gap between #1 and the last guy in a BES. The difference in terms of $ and QoL is huge. It should be more balanced.

once some senior folks opt for reserve vs. junior folks being forced into it we will have reached some state of balance.

I didn’t mean our goal should be make RSV super senior, but the idea that RSV NEEDS to be junior and worse than being a line holder is an antiquated one and is the reason why people don’t upgrade at UAL. There isn’t one valid reason why RSV shouldn’t have a similar QOL to that of a line holder, which would allow people to choose what works for them rather than being forced into RSV like we are now

Yes you should be rewarded for more service and contributions to the company than the guy that got hired yesterday. But I guess the current generation getting hired has boxes of childhood participation trophies from in their closet.
Saying you should get something for just being senior is LITERALLY the same thing as a "participation trophy."

Can you drink a beer while playing that golf game? No? Then you're working.

If you can't turn your cell phone off or drink a beer, then you are working.

Not disagreeing with the greater logic per se, but if your time off is defined primarily by your ability to consume alcohol it may be time to seek help.
