There can always be a multi-pronged attack with regards to union leverage. The loss of UAL NH/Indoc pilots to Delta is probably where the major forces are amassed as far as pressure on management. And to think, it's not even a "tactic" that the union controls. It's management scoring an "Own goal" in the World Cup finals! OOOps!

Leverage lies with the negotiating party that is most satisfied with the status quo. I think this is a rare case, especially in aviation, where both sides won’t be satisfied with status quo. Both sides have a lot to lose with this dragging out, not to mention Delta has now given us a mediated benchmark.

100% agree. Ironically our contract has such big holes in it, they have a fair amount of leeway when it comes to reserve.
