New AA contract
https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/...s-new-contract
"American Airlines is reportedly preparing to offer its pilots similar benefits recently announced by rival Delta Air Lines.
On Tuesday, Reuters reported that American Airlines CEO Robert Isom told pilots that matching Delta's new offerings will result in a contract worth more than $7 billion for them through increased pay rates and profit sharing.
Isom told the outlet the new deal would be a "game changer" for pilots flying for American.
To match Delta's deal, which went into effect last Thursday, Isom said American pilots would receive an average pay increase of 21% in the first year of the contract – total pay increases in the fourth year would be 40%."

Kirby essentially said the same thing- that Delta had set the bar that would become the new industry standard- so talk is cheap. Still, if AA goes next, I’m gonna expect a landslide TUMI 4 (5? 6? I’m losing count) ‘cause when they said “industry leading” they sure weren’t talking chronically…

SK about to get one-upped by American, can’t sit well with him.
Also, anyone else feel odd that we seem to know more about where American’s offer probably sits, and we definitely knew more about where Delta’s offer sat, then where the United offer sits?

It’s all for “reasons”. The status quo about not releasing our ask is absolutely infuriating. Doesn’t seem necessary as we have seen it work out just fine with DAL. We will at least know what it looks like when it becomes an AIP.

The cute part is that both - Kirby and Isom - refer primarily to pay rates. They are super transparent and easy to benchmark. The is no way that either AA or UA would settle for anything less than DL. That’s the easy part.
the hard part is QoL…that’s were we need to make significant progress.

Anybody concentrating on pay rates is missing the point. There are 600 plus pages of contract that determine how much you get paid for cbt, recurrent, vacation, sick, ltd, short call, long call, and days with your family.

What do you mean? I love getting paid a few bucks for doing hours of CBT’s

My sources at AA have said there has been little to no progress at the bargaining table. This seems to be Isom speaking off the cuff, and to placate pilots to get through Easter without another melt down.
Besides that, APA just put out a notice they will be taking a strike vote.
