Hi y'all. I know this has been discussed before but a lot of the information is on the older side. Was wondering how the commute out of TPA/SRQ is? Would EWR or IAH be a better place to commute to? Thanks for the help!

I have offers at both right now and unsure of any differences between the 2 on commuting. Not adverse at all, just not sure how realistic it is for me to plan on MCO anytime soon.

The MEC will allow the TPA co-domicile only in the next contract. You never know, the OP could actually be senior enough to hold MCO captain by the time we get a TA.

I haven't done any commuting out of SRQ but I've been doing TPA to DCA/IAD for ages and I found it was easier than commuting to EWR. On paper EWR has way more frequency but there's a ton of commuters and if you're on reserve and have to crosstown to LGA it's a giant pain. The metro connects DCA to IAD and there's enough BWI guys/gals that I only saw it once on reserve. Shouldn't take too long to hold MCO so I'd imagine the commuting won't last very long, maybe a year.

Pilots living closer to TPA could see this as a good thing. Pilots living closer to MCO could see this as a bad thing. I don’t live in FL so I don’t have an opinion but I’m curious what others think.
