to be clear, that mid 12k CA got in via base trade before the new contract prevented that. Current outlook for MCO captain is one bajillion years.

To further clarify, there are 11 MCO 737 Captains junior to 12000. 9 of them got it on a vacancy bid, 2 of them got it via the base trade. The 7 most junior Captains all got it via a vacancy bid (24-03V). So, even though the contract has changed on Base Trades, the two that got them are now not the most junior Captains in the BES.

Not much of a betting man nor am I much into predicting what Manpower Planning will do next, but I will take the wager that it will be less than one bajillion years for another Captain vacancy award

Question for the reserve MCO reserve pilots. Does reserve cover both MCO and TPA or can you bid reserve for either base? If someone lived in MCO or TPA area and was on short call and traffic was bad, what's the policy on time to get to the other base?

u cover both bases. 2 1/2 hours to get to mco as it's the primary airport. Tpa 2 1/2 plus

There are several of us CAs who will bid out when able.
The large mix of TPA trips (more than 40%) makes it very good for those that live near TPA (xtown pay is a nice bonus), but for others, it sucks. For open time, it's mostly TPA trips.

driving to TPA is worse than commuting to another base?

I suppose if the option is reserve in Orlando, getting Tampa trips all the time vs commuting to a line?

still seems wack.

The guppy is the worst aircraft on property; a true POS whose production line should have been shut down years ago. Commuting for a better aircraft is worth it, yes.

Is sitting short call in St. Pete doable?
