Because after 20 plus years of trying that approach, you realize that it’s falling on deaf ears and nothing changes. Newark was a goat rope 20 years ago. And guess what, it’s gonna be a goat rope 20 years from now. You make it sounds like we haven’t tried that before. Now have a drink and relax.

This is exactly right. In my almost 20 years of operating in EWR, nothing has changed. There has been a long list of managers come and go, big announcements of improvements to the operation, and failed attempts to “fix” EWR. There’s an old saying about making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear that applies. EWR will always be EWR. Expect a fiasco and then be pleasantly shocked when things actually run smoothly.

Does the Chief of DEI have a spot on the board of directors? No? Okay then it's probably just yet another corporate "adjective-washing" job title with zero power, zero pay raise and is just there to make the majority of customers happier in a meaningless corporate press release.

UAL is in dire need of leadership that has the right priorities at the fore. Focusing on DEI initiatives and the LGBTQ+ agenda is a horror show with dire consequences waiting to transpire. This is so very tragic for this once great airline. JMHO.

There is NO leadership, simply management.
And then reference my previous post.

I look around and saw about 12 people sitting on a pallet doing nothing (break time, I guess?). They just sat there chatting and looking at us like we were insane for about 7 more minutes. Then they finally got up and parked both planes.
I couldn’t help but think Tony Soprano was somehow involved.

You’ll occasionally get in and out of EWR with zero problems, but the safe bet is to expect fecal extravaganza. When you realize that our job is to simply operate safely within the system that they create and manage, the BP doesn’t rise when things melt down. Being paid by the hour makes that a pretty easy philosophy to live by.
