One massive difference is the training a military pilot has to go through. At UAL it’s almost impossible to wash out of training.

He might have to thank himself as only Insler himself can be this delusional. Poor Todd, I mean Goose.

I find myself babysitting mil guys the most. Flaps 5 -30 miles out and/ or no weather radar pulled up while we're serving drinks, but sure they won't wash out at UAL.

Cool story, 90% chance that pilot had done more in an airplane, with geopolitical ramifications before they were 30 than you’ll do your whole career.

Not sure what is wrong with Flaps 5 -30 miles out, but say whatever you need to feel better about yourself.

“Wahhhh they don’t fly exactly how I would”

GMAFB. If early flaps is the most “babysitting” you have to do consider yourself lucky.

Idk about you but I would rather fly with the guy that’s flaps 5 30 miles out vs the guy that’s coming high and fast and 50% chance we are going around.

Smooth and efficient 121 ops is different from safe aircraft ops.

Both important but not necessarily related. As far as night arrivals into Bogota, the military guys should be prepared.
