Default Implementation questions

What’s everyone’s take on implementation? Seems like reserve rules is august 2024 for most of it? Will it be manual till then? Add pay for rolling done manually till then? Bidding changes in pbs for splitting HDO? Was confusing and didn’t like it not being on summary etc

I like that they tied the accelerated upgrade course for new hires to implementation of a lot of QOL items. Smart thinking.

You won't be splitting HDOs until January 2024. You will get 3 hours of add pay in the meantime for your troubles.

Not really. They can't start left seat training until late summer 2024, if I'm reading it correctly. Take into consideration that the positions have to go unfilled, have to show up in a class drop, be assigned, and the pilot has to fly as FO for 350 hours, this provision really goes into effect upon DOS. The pilot wouldn't be able to start training until summer 2024 anyway. The company's pipeline problem is effectively fixed right away. The implementation date of that provision is not a win. Looks smart to you. Smarter would have been that the positions can't show up in drops until every single one of the improvements that benefits the pilot group is implemented first. Even smarter would have been to have not agreed to this provision in the first place.

the way it reads, is they can’t even use the provision to assign the slots until the rest of the contract provisions are implemented.

So the earliest indoc class that will fall under this invol captain provision is next year.

Company has to release all seat locks and allow probation pilots to bid CA on the specific vacancy bid before they can use this clause once implemented.

Item #1197879 in Appendix A of the of redline version says they cannot start training until AUG 24. I could be wrong but I take that to mean the left seat training.

8-D-6 Prior to utilizing Section 8-C-8 to assign an unfilled narrowbody fleet Captain vacancy to a New Hire, existing freezes will be lifted for Pilots bidding into those categories for that bid. When these existing freezes are lifted, Probationary Pilots will also be eligible to bid on such vacancies for that bid. In the event that the Company chooses not to lift existing freezes to fill unfilled narrowbody fleet Captain vacancies, those vacancies will be cancelled for that Category when the award is final.
