Please think before you vote!!

Folks, please think before you vote on this sub par TA. First,in many areas, its only slightly better than what we had at my last regional .There will not be another contract completed in 3 years.Do you really want to work under these rules for the next 7-10 years??Dont come online complaining in a few months when they start enforcing the same rules you voted for. Lets send it back and truly get some thing thats industry leading? We will NEVER have as much leverage as we have now. NEVER.This is our opportunity to get it right.Im eligible to vote and myself and the guys in my new hire class are all 99% NO.I think SK will rest easy at night knowing all he had to do was flash a few bucks to make us overlook everything else and make this issue go away. For those waiting on huge retro checks with only a few years left dont screw the guys behind you by voting for this.Besides,if we send this back, the longer you wait, the larger your retro check will be and its a win win for all.The fact team will try and sell you on this, its their job but hopefully everyone can see throught the salesmanship and see this for what it is.Its only average at best, nothing industry leading anywhere.Send it back and lets wait for what most of you really deserve. Make SK come back with his biggest and best,i promise you this isnt it.I feel like he made chumps out of us.Its definetly better than the tumi turd, but it still leaves alot to be desired in ALOT of areas.Garth did a good job getting to this point, but its still more work to be done.DONT SETTLE,GET WHAT YOU WANT AND DESERVE.1000 % NO

I am a yes vote
not willing to be parked by a mediator

We made some gains we lost some
that’s negotiating
the one s who will complain till next contract 7 years or so later will be the same no voters and will not be more than 25 percent
majority wins

carry on

BTW NO to age 67 either and I am not young
This will be my last contract

Interesting, 99% of my new hire class is voting YES. Have you looked at the contract comparison? We went from the industry laggard to meeting or exceeding our peers in almost every aspect of work rules. I wasn't in the room, but it seems like the NC used this leverage to get us $10B+ in work life and monetary gains.

Every single QOL/Scheduling change except maybe some high credit sick tweaks is better than what we had imo. I’ll be happy to work under the new rules and I honestly think when the company sees how much loosening the reins a little bit and letting pilots trade/APU etc they’ll be willing to loosen even more the next time around. My regional was far more flexible with trip pickups and drops (out of base pickups/trades were super easy, you could offer to pick up on a leg by leg basis (IE I just want the victory lap at the end of this trip) and drop on a leg by leg basis (IE I don’t want the victory lap at the end and I’ll waive min day to drop it). Would I have liked to have seen more? Sure. Do I think parking this thing in front of a mediator for another year or two will get us that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I was willing to wait and go to mediation for tumi because of the absolutely deplorable QOL concessions. This has one or two minor gives that won’t affect the vast majority of pilots on property and probably a dozen minor QOL wins. I’ll take that trade.

those sorts of things are just so far out of left field here that I can see why the company might be afraid to open up that Pandora’s box all at once.Scheduling here is about 10 years behind the regional mindset imo. They’ll see how much sick time usage drops and how stuff gets covered more easily and change their tune for the next contract.

Don’t presume or assume you know what motivates me. Or what’s important to me. To say every one who is a yes vote is doing it for retro is an easy label for no voters to throw on yes voters. This contract hits every square that matters to me. I’m sorry it doesn’t for you. But I’m not going to coerce, beg, plead, pray, etc that you vote yes. I don’t care how you vote. Vote for what matters to you.

One thing I find funny is we beat Delta in pay (industry leading), which caused them to jump 2%, pulling us up in the process. Win/win but zero doubts you’ll find some disappointed in it. We also have DL pensionable PS formula. That is significant. There are so many gains of substance, but no way to make 16,000 individual pilots perfectly happy.

I’ve seen a bunch of contracts at this point in my career. If this ain’t it there’s no way round 3 is going to play out in a way that’s substantially better, and there are MANY ways it could play out measurably worse in time and outcome.

I wonder if people fully grasp that the time spent under the current contract is time NOT under the new rules. Retro recaptures some (at a gnarly marginal tax rate by the way) but it doesn’t recapture PS wording, work rules, LTD gains, and all the other soft items.

Retro doesn’t capture rigs, either. People forget that whatever future retro we would get would be less than working under the new rules for the same period.

Solid Yes voter.

Rjros1988 09-08-2023 08:57 AM

Interesting that 99% of his new hire class is no when the contract probably benefits junior pilots the most. All sample / straw man polls I’ve seen show at worst a 50 % yes vote and remainders split between no / still deciding and yet 99 percent of his class is a no?? Very Interesting statistic.
