What's the chances of getting hired at UAL with a previous drug test failure?
I've gone through all of the FAA/DOT required steps and will have my 1st Class medical and ATP reinstated very soon.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thx

This is a great question for an interview prep company.

TMAAT you made a decision you regret, and how did you learn from it?

Talk to your HIMS pilot peer monitor about this. And also talk to pilots in HIMS that have gotten hired.
Narcotics or alcohol?
Alcoholic or not?
In HIMS now? If so, why not?
If you take your recovery seriously I'm sure you'll know what to say.

I just wanted to reach out and give you a shot in the arm and bit of encouragement. I've have known a couple terrific guys who went through HIMS and are now leading awesome lives and have great careers. I'm new here at UA and from my limited perspective after interviewing here I believe they would be open to considering someone who has been through HIMS, as I remember they had questions about the HIMS program on the application. United seems mostly interested in hiring good people who can work well with others and fly airplanes, convince them of that and I am inclined to believe they'd be open to giving you the job.

You need a year or two or three with a boring paper trail.

The nature of the drug test failure will play a part in any hiring decision. If it's Marijuana there would be a chance. If it's cocaine it's going to be a tougher sell. As mentioned in the prior post you need some time with a clean history.

I’ve got a friend that several are trying to get to united. He had an alcohol issue several years back. The unofficial word I’ve heard is ten years post incident. Right now after hiring fairs and CPO m&g he can’t even get a hogan invite. Anecdotal, so take it for what it’s worth.
