Default Bidding Out of Captain Before Training?

Read through the UPA but it’s hard to fully understand for me. If a pilot bid for CA in a previous bid, but then successfully bids for a different base as an FO on a subsequent vacancy bid and before they begin CA upgrade training, are they released from the CA upgrade?

used to be….not anymore…

your seat lock now starts the day the position is awarded. Changed with the new contract….better want what you bid from now on.

With the new contract we are truly back to the old adage....

Bid what you want
Want what you bid
Careful what you bid for because you just might get it!!!!
