There's no such thing as a 'NEO' engine. There's the 320NEO series, which has CFM or P&W engine options, the latter of of which is having issues. The CFMs (knock on wood) are fine.
I can't speak to the 220s. |

I was using “NEO” to refer to the P&W GTF engines. I should’ve been more specific so apologies. Word at Spirit is that even the new birds will go down eventually to get the engines inspected. I expect your new 321NEO to have the same issues here within the next 12-18 months. I think it’ll be resolved by then though so it might not be a huge deal like it is now. The A220 are faced with the same issue as they have the same engines on them.
the 220 does NOT have the same engine as the 320. Yes its a GTF, but its a PW1500G vs a PW1100G. So similar but different. |

It's been a while since I read the article, but the jist of it was Spirt wasn't really at fault. Boeing failed to give them proper technical documents. For the pressure bulkhead issue, it was the Spirit made fuselages that were actually the good ones and Boeing was the one that made the bad ones.
https://www.reuters.com/business/aer...es-2024-01-07/ Spirit makes the plug, nut Boeing removes it to put in most of the interior, then reinstalls it and finishes the interior to cover it up and make it difficult to readily access. What subsequent checks (if any" are required, I haven't a clue. Did it in fact FAIL? Or was it not reinstalled properly? |

Cheap isn't cheap.
Maybe going all in on 737 MAXs is a bad idea. Mayyyyyybe 320 series or even 220s would be a better way to diversify. BOEING has been a disaster... filler |

At my shop our NEOs are CFM, as are our future XLR orders. I'm not sure if the LR or XLR variants have a P&W option. |
