This could throw a wrench into trips this weekend.

You're probably right, the other article updated as well, it's for ~170 Max 9s world wide. United has about 30 of them delivered in the last year (out of a total of 80), I would guess it won't go further back than that. It also may be a quick inspection that won't keep them down long.

Cheap isn't cheap.

Maybe going all in on 737 MAXs is a bad idea. Mayyyyyybe 320 series or even 220s would be a better way to diversify. The American aerospace industry has been a disaster...

It looks like initially "all 737 MAX 9 are grounded UFN" ... but things are changing rapidly.

I can't say I disagree. I'm partial to the Airbus, they have had their issues, too, but Boeing QC seems to be problematic lately. 50/50ish Boeing/Airbus seems to make sense -- I know Boeing is basically giving away MAXs and it was smart for United to tie up their order book. However, this is the shiz we continue to deal with.

I'd love to see United get A220s; the small jet market is working well for Delta, so 220-100s, 220-300s, and even 220-500s [should they ever develop and certify them] would be a great way to move away from Boeing b.s.

That one astounded me - no auto a-ice, but if you leave it on, it could shred your nacelle, breach the pressure vessel, and cause a rapid d... no big deal, be careful...

UAL has 79 or more 7M9 in the fleet. This isn't ideal.
