I know of 2 people who had a failure within ~6 months of the interview and both were hired. But yeah the frequency, timing, circumstances and above all attitude is what really makes a difference.

In addition to frequency, timing, and attitude; race, gender, and gender identity matter greatly. He has publicly stated he wants 50% of the pilot group to be other than white male. Checkride failures weigh less if you are other than white male.

Are you sure that's what he said? That's not what he said. But if he did, he's failing big time on those percentages. Have you bothered to take a look at the new hire class pictures in the FOUs?

That's about where it's at.

My above was sarcasm, tainted with TRUTH.

Sorry, but in the last few years we've ALL seen people getting hired that don't conform.

Well, NOT exactly, but;

"Over the next decade, United will train 5,000 pilots who will be guaranteed a job with United, after they complete the requirements of the Aviate program – and our plan is for half of them to be women and people of color," said United CEO Scott Kirby. "We're excited that JPMorgan Chase has agreed to support our work to diversify our pilot ranks and create new opportunities for thousands of women and people of color who want to pursue a career in aviation."

So 5000 Aviate over 10 years = 500/year

2000 hires/year - 500 = 1500 non-Aviate hires

1500 hires X 90% white guys = 1350 white guys

plus 250 Aviate white guys = 1600 white guys

out of 2000 hires that’s still 80% white guys.

Go peddle your wares in your DeSantis subforum.

Thank you. Such a tired out, misinformed viewpoint. As someone mentioned, look at EVERY class photo. Vanilla...

Using your logic, if I look at a picture of NBA/NFL teams, it's obvious that they discriminate against white men.

Wouldn't you need to look at the applicant pool and see what the percentages of minorities are of the qualified applicants ?

I'm curious what % of minorities/women don't get an interview/turned down, compared to white males.

Using who's logic? I made the comment about the pictures to show the poster I was replying to that not only was he wrong about what SK said, but to point out that what the poster was trying to allude to wasn't what is actually happening.

Not sure who you're referring to. I only made the statement in reference to hearing about UA only caring about DEI and if you're a white male, too bad so sad. All it is is white males. Don't know percentages, qualifications, etc. What I do know is white males don't have to feel threatened

I did know two military pilots who had congressional interests to insure their retention. One ended up trying to crash a DC10 into the FedEx headquarters and the other killed herself even faster than predictions.
