Default SK Safety Letter to Customers

Maybe if they hadn't hired a CNN journalist as the head of safety we wouldn't be in this situation. Of course why have someone with an operational background leading safety? Anyway, apparently went out to all MileagePlus of a certain level and higher.

Umm, isn't the VP of Safety and Corporate Security Sasha Johnson who came to United in 2015 after a background at the FAA and DoT? She was promoted to the VP position in 2020 after the previous Safety VP retired.

Yeah, with this background: chief of staff at the FAA, assistant to the secretary and director of public affairs, and press secretary at the DOT. Prior to that, Johnson spent more than a decade in broadcast journalism at CNN, including covering campaigns and elections as a senior producer.

Sorry, a background in media and press with no operational background at all does not qualify you to lead safety at one of the world's largest airlines.

Maybe if you were at this airline, you'd know that you were attempting to reference Josh Earnest, the Chief Communications Officer, who would appear to be qualified for that position after time as the White House Press Secretary and NBC correspondent. But please keep explaining our safety culture to us.

Or maybe you should go take a look at Sasha's bio...

CNN Producer Covering Campaigns and Elections
DOT Press Secretary
Director of Public Affairs at DOT
FAA Chief of Staff

But please, tell me more about your safety culture...

This is the same airline the has recently hired hundreds of pilots with ZERO 121 PIC, no college degree, and maybe 2,000 hours total, 500 of which were at Frontier having their hand held flying an airbus. Safety has never been SK’s priority. That would be his stock bonus from DEI which I’m sure is now in jeopardy. SK is just trying to put lipstick on a pig.

Just wait until those low time inexperienced pilots get into the left seat at United. Everyone saw this coming, I’m surprised it’s happening this fast, but it was easily predictable.

When you get a life outside of this forum it will be a good thing. I would suggest a girlfriend but hate to be presumptuous.

I mean you’re probably not wrong about the airbus part. Airbus will probably take better care of you than the other way around.

I am not sure LAXtoDEN is a real Delta pilot. They seem to make most of their transmissions and submissions on guard. Maybe one day he will show us on the SK doll he carries around where United hurt him.
