The text has been making its way to many. I personally got it from three different individuals.

“Our POl pulled a bunch of high ranking folks including Scott in to a mandatory meeting on Tuesday.

No new routes are to be announced, only new routes we can start are ones we have sold tickets on. We can take delivery of new aircraft but can't fly revenue with them, so essentially all growth is halted. We are the leading US carrier for accidents over the last 13 months. Apparently Kirby was the only executive at the meeting who understood the issue, everyone else had their jaw on the floor. The latest accident, the MAX in IAH, tried to take the 90 degree turnoff at 40+ knots. We have experienced Captains doing stupid ****. All LCP FAA check rides at TK cancelled until further notice.”

It was a B767-300 in IAH with a new hire FO. Bent the keel and no hull loss on an airplane that is probably close to 30 years of age. Probably didn't want 2 hull losses so they went ahead and repaired it to avoid the bad press.

How does UA fix a systematic issue? Tighten the training/checking standards? Training audits?

theres probably SOME truth to it…..but come on. 13 high ranking executives and a pilot gets a text about it??

If it didn't come from the TK shuttle driver I wouldn't believe it. His word is gospel.

2 things here….we have been smacking a lot of tails. We fly the ultimate stretch version of every aircraft we have. Not sure how to fix other than just making better decision in the heat of the moment.

next we fly the 757-200 757-300 767-300 and 767-400 all as one fleet. I have flown the 767-400 once in 12 calendar months and the 767-300 twice. In my opinion the fleets need to be split and the 767s need to be there own fleet.

Also there needs to be a separate training manager for the 756 fleet and the 320 fleet….theres is no way one person can manage an old Boeing NB an old Boeing WB and and 320/321 fleet…..

How about hiring pilots with more than 2,000 hours total time and no TPIC? Currently United and all legacies have less then 2,000 qualified applicants on file.
