Just saw this was confirmed true. Absolutely disgusting and is exactly the type of culture a person like Scott Kirby brings to an airline. United pilots, fix this sh<÷ now.

That's a cool story ... the husband is at fault. Several swiss cheese holes in that excuse, but I'm not going to go into why that excuse is problematic.
Don't care.
I don't know the pilot's name, don't care. I will, however, screen every United pilot who wants to ride my jumpseat who fits her profile. And I'm a United pilot.
I've commuted most of my career and given jumpseaters a ride for more than 20 years. I have never heard of anything remotely close to this ever happening before. Mentor this? Not possible to mentor such things that are so common sense. Do I also need to tell newhires to change their underwear daily? Where does the common sense mentoring end? This can't be fixed with mentoring so all you 'mentor mores' stop. You're being almost as stupid (not quite as stupid, by a nose) as the person who caused this.

Or maybe something else happened between the crew and the JS’er during the flight. Maybe a personality conflict or a comment was made in the flight deck thy at offender her? It could be a conversation the SWA guys thought was funny or controversial but to her, maybe have been offensive. Then she just used the safety argument as her way to get at them.

I've seen her company profile, I don't know her, and don't really care to know her. I agree, the husband story is even worse in some ways. But if it's true, do we really want to hang someone on account of their whack job spouse?

Well then you would be falsely stereotyping the incorrect group of pilots. Because if the name that is out there is correct she is not a new hire and well off probation. Been here several years.
so much miss information before we hang people we should atleast know the facts.

When my license becomes at risk to do another pilot a favor, I become more cautious. I'm not waiting for Godot because there won't be any specific 'facts' on this, just like with the charter incident. I'm not hanging anyone; I'm protecting my hind quarters.
There's enough correct information out there about what happened, just as with the charter incident.
And if that's the case (she's well off of probation), why the heck were you pointing the finger at senior pilots for lack of mentoring????? As someone else characterized your behavior, you're simply deflecting. Stop. And no, no official 'facts' are going to be published on this.

The latest scuttlebutt and apparently coming out of SWAPA:
..... non event for the crew. Stated her husband was in the back and she told him after the flight what happened. He called it into the FAA safety hotline. Social media blew it up and AA, DL, AS and others started denying UAL jumpseaters. SWAPA has been in touch with UAL and it’s all good, SWA didn’t deny any jumpseaters.

Yes indeed. Her name and picture are now circulating. Good thing about this is she will be the only pilot not allowed on my JS, all others you've got a seat
