Rip that if that really was the case. That said, they could be new to the company, but maybe not inexperienced aviators. Maybe they have plenty of airbus time before UA? Maybe lots of time in other airframes? The point being that we should really wait for the actual story to come out before pointing fingers (not saying you are, but others are).

Anyone know if it’s another ATC asking them to expedite off the runway ? I’ve been seeing this alot lately. I was in final in PHX recently and the controller was chastising the biz jet that just landed “I need you off the runway now ! Airbus on short final”. It’s getting pretty bad

I’ve seen this more and more recently too. In lots of places. I don’t know what the spacing mins are, but it seems like that’s all they want to do. And it puts perceived pressure on the crew to hurry and get off, which can lead to bad things.

Fly your own jet

100%. Then tell them to mark the tapes and file an FSAP. This issue stops when the FAA gets deluged with safety reports and starts listening to ATC try to hustle the turnoff.

“Mark the tapes”, what is that exactly?

In the age of your every utterance being live-streamed to the world, I’d suggest that you just note the UTC time and frequency in the FSAP. They’ll find it if needed.

Still, it’d be a good question for the ERC.

I agree if it were me. But I’m hearing these instructions while I’m in reverse thrust, going 100 plus kts and pretty focused on the task at hand. Even with my fancy noise cancelling headset I was asking what did he say ? Does anyone know how close they have to issue a go around ? The other day we were at 200 feet agl when the aircraft on runway cleared. I didn’t say anything and neither did the controller . Also the controllers seem pretty up tight and stressed out most places I go, except maybe Minneapolis center.

Exactly. My standard response...., once we got down to taxi speed was "sorry I missed that last call...say again please"? Followed by, ugh was busy, but since I couldn't comply, I"ll be filing an FSAP". On the FSAP, I let them know the folly of such calls. I tried to get others to file FSAP's for every instance of stupid " expidite" clearances. That would put a stop to this.

What is an FSAP?

if you’re familiar with the NASA ASAP program, FSAPs are basically ASAPs but for aircrews.
if you’re not familiar with the ASAP program, it’s when a pilot messes up and files a report saying “oops I messed up here’s what happened and what I should have done differently.”
as long as the pilot didn’t seriously violate any FARs or make the “mistake” intentionally, it’s a way to alleviate the chance of punitive action by showing you recognized the error and are going to prevent future mistakes.
