Maybe I’ve just been lucky but almost every passenger problem I’ve had at UA (in the past few years anyway) has gone like this:

FA (pops into cockpit): Hey, just wanted to let you know we having an issue with a pax

CA: Ok, do you need any help?

FA: No, the agent/supervisor is back there dealing with it

CA: Ok, if you, or they need anything, just let me know

FA/agent (5-10 mins later): It’s all taken care of, are we ok to close?

Curious CA on Day 1 of 4: Good, what was the story?

or

CA on go-home leg: Great, we’re outta here…

Obviously the CA has the authority to overrule everyone and have someone removed, but I can’t remember the last time I (or someone I was flying with) had to pull that card. If you are are the gate, just let the ground personnel do their jobs…

I suppose maybe at some smaller outstations where the supervisor is new, or some oddball situation, but I can’t honestly remember the last time I had to get involved.

Lots of press coverage on this one, including interviews on the morning shows. I'd say TD is setting himself up very nicely for a 6 to 7 figure settlement....probably 7.....👍🏻

I doubt he needs or wants the money, more likely he wants the wrong made right and UAL will be polishing whichever butt cheek he deems dull. Behind the scenes he may wind up with a whole lotta status/travel/bennies.

But who knows if he would use UAL in the future after what happened and not switch to the other of the Big 3.

True, would be much better flying experience out of DIA on SWA or Frontier

Did they even look at the manifest before taking these actions?! Granted, I'm a diehard Broncos fan so I know who he is, but even if you're not, shouldn't you do a little due diligence before handcuffing someone??

Every airline has bad flight attendants. I saw them at Delta and just had a bad experience on American. Flying a 2000 mile transcon on a paid first class ticket. Zero pre departure service and then breakfast dumped out as fast as possible and never saw the flight attendant again. Not one walk through with a full first class all revenue passengers. When I hit the head flight attendant was watching movies on his IPad.
Coach got better service as they did two full beverage runs.
