I wasn't here for it either, but Sebby was apparently some guy in management that decided the pilots were drinking too much water. Story goes that he declared we should only get one cup at a time, and call back to the FAs every time we needed a refill. That went over about as well as you'd expect... water consumption spiked and now we have section 21-V of the UPA because of it.

You’re correct. Pure coast to coast flights got one bottle. Other than that one cup at a time. It was really never an issue. The stews took care of us. Our livers were never cleaner.
