No a horrible guy to have.
When people do this it takes pressure off the company to domthe right thing. It's not the responsibility of the captain to do this. His job ended when the parking break was set. Why was he even still there? I hate clowns like this. this was the right thing to do and i will wager there is nothing on this captain's social media about it, if he even has social media sometimes doing the right thing is enough of a motivation the goodwill resulting to the company benefits all of us who after all depend on customers to pay our generous salaries for this most awesome career those of us who detest pax and can't wait to get away from them, please just keep away and don't say anything, better to be thought an ********* than open your mouth and confirm it |

Good on him. I think the people worrying about his expense report are missing the big picture. A guy did something nice and represented a Captain for United well. He didn’t do it for upvotes, internet points, or any other reason than to be a Captain. I will bet he will be rewarded well beyond $400 in pizza for being a good person by many parties. You miserable people worried about being reimbursed have lost the plot. Take care of your people, be humble, and cash the checks while the good times are here.

I think its great he ordered pizzas. But passengers already got @ $2400 in meal vouchers with an open food court until 830, that was probably better than Dominos .

Are you new? This is how they operate, and have operated for the 30 years I’ve been here. Talk a big game in public, and F the employees when the cameras are off. If he gets reimbursed, it would be a major change in the status quo. My money is on, “thanks for helping out our customers, but no reimbursement for you!”
How much longer until 65 for you? |

You're in good company with all the whiny babies around here. I recently heard that half the pilot group is post-merger hires. Good, there's so much dead wood at the top end of the seniority list that needs to hang it up. There's around 30 frequent fliers on the United Pilots FB group that just complain, whine, and bítch about so many things, that they have to go invent things to complain about. Like you, speculating he won't get paid, then complaining about it as though it wasn't just your fan fiction. Or the flare debriefing thing. Acres of screen scrolling of whiny babies complaining about something that doesn't actually exist yet.

How much longer until 65 for you? Spoken like a petulant child who lacks the historical knowledge of what can and WILL be done to you in your career. Made worse by refusing to listen to and belittling those who have experienced it. |

In Basic Indoc, there is a module on customer engagement where situations like this are discussed. The company absoutely wants us to do this and will reimburse for it.
