the 1 day SCs are out of control. Completely agree.

Serious question... why would you aggressively pick up SCs (aside from it being the choice of SC pickup or a really crappy trip)?

I let them assign me SCs last month and, of course, they went wild assigning them to me but I hit my 6 assigned SCs fairly quickily and spent my last 8 days of reserve on LC and was never used. I'm NB so maybe it's a different mindset WB but I only flew 5 days last month on TRV.

Don’t get used, get an hour of pay. Not a bad dice roll if you live in base. Especially if it’s a SC where you determine that you’re unlikely to be used.

Maybe not worth the risk for some on first year pay, but for someone more senior up the pay scale bidding reserve by choice it can bid up quick. On the captain side, even the lowest pay scale captains can easily clear an extra $1000/month with zero effort at all.

Anyone have any juicy rumors about when the next vacancy bid will be? It's been 2 months now...

I have been wondering the same. Guessing it will be very soon.

Displacement bid closed on Sep 30, and vacancy bids should pick up again in October. See the Sep 16 CRU.

They might be watching the Boeing strike closely. If our deliveries will be taking a further hit soon, no need for a ton of upgrades until it’s back on track. That’s pure speculation though.
