At 98% seniority as a NB CA, living in base, I absolutely love love the reserve system right now. Hell, I can’t even get a short call pick up for that extra hour of pay, it’s going so senior

How much are you actually flying these days as a junior reserve CA? Just curious.

It seems like if you're sharp on the trip-trading logic, you can improve your schedule somewhat.

While LOA 12-03 is fairly straight-forward, it only uses a 1:1 trade in all of its examples. I have seen junior FOs manage to successfully trade away 2 trips for 1 trip, 3 for 2, and in a few instances 3 for 1.

My question is this: does "bad day, worse day" rules look at coverage of all trips dropped vs. all trips picked up when processing the trade?

I don't know how CCS trip trade logic applies with multiples in a trade since our LOA only presents examples for 1:1 swap. Does anyone have any experience with this they could share? Thanks in advance!

Yes. Subject to the restrictions in the LOA. So you could in theory trade out of 16 days of NB trips for a 1 day earlier in the bid period.

I noticed for this month, they changed the min coverage on the very last day of the bid month to be the worst coverage day so I can't bad day/worse day out of that trip. Jerks.

Wow, that is incredible. Here’s what my BES is showing for coverage for the last four days of this bid month:

26th: -2
27th: -3
28th: -3
29th: -38

Checked a few other categories too and it’s similar everywhere. It’s so blatant now that it’s absolutely laughable. How have we never fixed this contractually? It’ll be high on my list for next time, whenever that is.

It took them a couple of years after instituting the bad day/worse day trading logic, but they finally figured it out.

From: 18%er but I’ll enforce UPA23 to the last period.

Because we keep voting yes to contracts that don't address this at all.

Forgive my ignorance, but doesn’t this just affect that one day or does it somehow cascade through the rest of the month. What is the advantage to the company of protecting the 29th more so than other days throughout the month?
