It’s not so much the homeless, etc at the Seattle layover that is bad. It’s more that, on the weekend, everything is closed.

I understand the reasoning behind the 14 hr or longer downtown layover but aren't there better areas say in Denver to layover (Cherry Creek)? Seems like safety (re: less crime) would be a better metric for finding locations versus straight "downtown".
the DoD / US government usually requires vendors to provide hotels that meet a certain safety rating based on FBI crime map.. AKA it can’t be located in a dump

I'm not mil, but getting close to 30 years of this, there's places "I don't like walking around".

Not out of fear/apprehension, I just may not LIKE it. And frankly, there's just some things/places I'm "over".

Didn’t we just prove that the most dangerous thing that could happen is being stabbed to death by a drugged out homeless dude?

I just want to stay somewhere not over run by mentally ill people.

So? Doesn't mean you have to wear one. If that makes you want to stay inside, not sure who has the issues.

LPTA.. lowest price Technically acceptable is what the DoD runs on. Aka they have to put the crime statistic requirement in the PWA / Solicitation. Always a lot harder to find a decent spot when they have this and to come under the gov per diem rate
