The company, for whatever reason, considers this information confidential.

Without going through each and every agreement, my experience has been that we can get business ZED on most if not all Star Alliance carriers, while few or no non Star carriers allow them for us.

There isn't a singular list, per se. It would be easier to ask this question of someone you know to click on 1000 links of agreements. You can count on the star alliance partners for sure, but there are others as well.

Different carriers also have different rules as to whether your more distant pass travelers (buddy passes, enrolled friends, parents, etc.) can travel on the ZED agreements as well. It's a research project.

As I said upthread, the list is long enough that I won't put them all down but some of your usual suspects are BA, CX, QF, LH (along with most of the Star Alliance carriers save TG and SQ), EY, RJ, HA, AS, B6, and AM.

Registered companions can only fly separately on AS/HA, however if you're accompanying them we do get a limited number of "Companion Passes" which can be used by anyone that doesn't already have ZED benefits. Those are usually available on the Star Alliance carriers plus a limited amount of others like B6, QF, and EY.

Hope this helps.

WN guy here—we travel extensively via nonrev travel and have listed many times for business class on UAL. The trick is having actual availability. The upgrades seem to take all the spots. Of course, if you don’t get it you are refunded the difference for whatever class you end up in.

I was told also that if you waive having companion passes that you will gain a friend that you can add to your benefits that travels at your priority, similar or alongside having a spouse. Is this person able to ZED solo on Star Alliance carriers?

thank you for everything else, that was all helpful.

Companion Passes and Buddy Passes are not the same thing. You get Companion Passes regardless, but you can elect to forego Buddy Passes in lieu of a 2nd enrolled friend that will travel at your priority with you and at an SA4 unaccompanied.

Airline dependent but mostly no as I recall from past years when I’ve used the “enrolled friend” option.

Only a spouse or domestic partner can travel solo on other airlines. Pass riders can travel unaccompanied on United.

That’s not true. We have several if not most agreements that allow more than that.
