So United is going to **** its profitable hub in the system that literally prints money for the airline…. Yeah,… It’s a good thing you don’t run a airline…

a little history lesson for you. During COVID EWR replaced 22L/4R. United cut their flights by a huge number and guess who let JetBlue and Spirit add the exact number of flights United cut? That would be the FAA. So yes United added all their flights back (which still isnt the total number of flights pre COVID) but now that there are 100 additional flights due to a JetBlue mini hub that grew during the LAST runway replacement it’s an even bigger mess.

so yeah…..Kirby isn’t going to make the same mistake twice. This time he is going to get EWR slot controlled and force the airport to operate within its abilities and all airlines will be cutting flights not just United.

Puppets is right ……..I will only add that JetBlue actually decided to cut their mini hub back in half. From 56 Daily deps to 28 in September of 22. This was just 4 months after opening a base in EWR. Kind of sort of why I am at United now…..and not still at JetBlue
eeeeh anyway movie stars narrative just some up what I hear about people outside the New York area that just have no knowledge or awareness of how much money that hub brings in.

Question: Has Kirby offered his resignation yet for the mess he turned EWR into?

Was listening to one of my favorite aviation podcasts yesterday. They absolutely tore Kirby apart. Apparently, he tried blaming "lazy" ATC personnel for the issues at Newerk. lol, wtf is wrong with that guy? He needs better PR people because every time he opens up his mouth he inserts his foot into it.

You quoted one word. Please provide the entire quote, in context, where Kirby called Air Traffic Controllers lazy.

I’d like to see that quote too. Can’t seem to find it on the internet.

Kirby and United are all smoke and mirrors. All of these “huge” announcements just for them to back down months later.
