I guess we could take all the back to the SW of old if we’re talking a bare bones/basic travel experience and carrying “the bus people” as it was termed.

I jumpseated in the cabin on AA a few months ago from Barbados to Charlotte, then connected on another AA flight home. The gate agents and pilots on both flights went out of their way repeatedly to help me - some of the best service I’ve ever received from any airline. So you may be right with some of their employees, but I sure didn’t experience that.
