Something tells me you have pictures of your “Wing Ceremony” all over your social media and prominently displayed in your house.

What is a wing ceremony? Definitely don't have anything like what where I work.

It showed the MCO/TPA base as shrinking on the slide but then he said he thinks that is actually not reality, but that it would not be growing anytime soon, so pilots will likely be replaced as they take bids or retire, but just wouldn't see any growth in the total at the base.

All effort in 2026 is going to be to grow in ORD, DEN and IAH as much as possible. Especially in ORD now that we got 5 more gates. Any growth in other bases with NB planes will only be to support flying out of those 3 hubs and the other massive growth will be 787 flying increasing in LAX, SFO and ORD. Whatever their plans were to distribute flying has changed to trying to get some fortress mid continent hubs and more Pacific flying.

Once the E gates in Dulles open they will probably build that up, but that's not supposed to be done until late 2026. I would like to see that 40,000 sf United Club there. The current one is pretty bad.

Everything else isn't a priority apparently.

I know it’s fashionable to look down at our industry counterparts at ULCC’s but it’s not a good look at least to me.
You may not share this on your dating profile or to your friends when playing pickle ball…..but we all know when the door closes it’s the same job. Let’s also pretend like luck, timing has nothing to do with our career trajectory.

For some reason this Hawker dude likes to interject snarky comments - like here, “UA material” and “take that Delta” in a previous thread. It’s a really odd, passive-aggressive trolling attempt.

That's completely false. I've jumpseated on NK more than a few times and flown with more than a couple of ex-NK FOs ... on the guppy. They are all around great people and a great asset at United.
This was a garbage comment and you should be posting a public apology for this post.

FWIW the standards meeting slides I mentioned had DEN and ORD and IAH as having the “minimal growth” label as well, but I didn’t see all the fleets. Plans can and will change, but it’s interesting that a recent snapshot isn’t lining up with many posts on here. I guess we’ll see soon enough with these upcoming vacancy bids.

I’m assuming it was all from the Stands Meeting. Multiple slides show which fleet with grow where and which base will see some shrinkage/growth
