This was a garbage comment and you should be posting a public apology for this post.

So you're saying every single pilot for Spirit should automatically qualify for a job at a legacy without a vetting process?

For some reason this Hawker dude likes to interject snarky comments - like here, “UA material” and “take that Delta” in a previous thread. It’s a really odd, passive-aggressive trolling attempt.

I think you're a great person and I appreciate your input and interest.

Let’s be honest, if UA wasn’t foolish enough to give you the green light way back when, you’d be saying, “Welcome to Burger King, can I take your order?”, because unfortunately you just weren’t good enough to be “McDonald’s material”—sorry ass.

NOT AT ALL what I said. I was and am offended that you used such a broad brush to paint Spirit pilots negatively.

And you're recharacterizing what you said:

The other factor to consider is there are probably plenty of Spirit pilots that wouldn’t make good United material. Forcing the airline to hire them would not work out well for all parties.

Why did you choose the word 'plenty'? I wouldn't have a problem with you stating that 'a few' Spirit pilots wouldn't make good United material; there are always a few out there. But 'plenty' implies a large number of pilots.

By United material do you mean the anti-vax/anti-gay mafia that runs rampant in IAH? Or the ultra-liberal rep on the west coast that is being doxxed right now for his views on Charlie Kirk? We have every sort of personality under the sun at United. We’ve got Christians, Jews, Muslims, trans, gay, straight, misfits, misogynists, sexists, racists, pro-govt, anti-govt, the whole gambit. I’d argue that there are plenty of pilots at United who don’t make “good United material” but they got through the process and here they shall stay. Your crap is just as brown and smells just as much as anyone at NK or any other airline.

Boy, the butthurt is rampant on this thread. Where are the anti Kirby AAL sycophants to round this out?

For probably the 3rd of 4th time, I don’t fly for United. But we can pretend if you want. I’m a 727-300 captain based in STL.

These things were said at the standards meeting just a week ago. If you go to the beginning of this thread you can see the summary.

"minimal growth" for those pilot bases for staffing. They want to grow the coastal bases (for pilot staffing). I have no idea why. 777s and 747s flew in and out of DEN for years, and they never had a 777 or 747 base there. The increase to number of flights in and out of a hub are not necessarily coincidental to the number of pilots based there.
