319s are great airplanes to replace rj's with.

Our oldest 737-700 is over 28 years old and still sporting the old overhead bin configuration. The -700s will be sorely missed when they go.

-700s will be getting new interiors. I believe what is driving the A319/A320 retirements is engine related… Parts for the IAE engines aren’t being produced as quickly as PW is tied up trying to push out parts for the GTF engines that are sidelined.

Could be, although Rolls-Royce still makes many of the spare parts despite selling ownership to PW. It's also difficult to impossible to get the CRT displays. They can be replaced with LCD but there's a cost/benefit calculation there that maybe doesn't wash with 150+ more fuel efficient narrowbodies on order?

Don't worry! We're rocking our 319s for eternity over at 'Murican. We'll take em and Im sure Kirby will have fun trolling Bobby Ice to make the deal too! 🤣

Makes a lot of sense (retire A319/A320 1 for 1 as A321’s come online). They can increase ASM’s without new gates and more staffing.

I figured the 757 and 767-300’s would be out before the A319/A320, but maybe not.
