Certainly those types of optics certainly wouldn't convince me it's a good thing no matter how unwise we think their steadfast resistance to PBS is.
Don’t have to trust the company if you negotiate good work rules. Easier said than done, but PBS is as only good as negotiated work rules. Something they admit they don’t really fight for as a whole

I think the other big sticking point was the TAs requirement to fly 400ish hours to get medical. Under the current contract they can drop everything and still get medical. The only reason for them to retire is withdrawing from 401K.

Only work 400 hours a year to keep your full medical insurance and benefits and they said no?
Wow
Hell most of them work 200 hours a month to make a living. So what’s wrong with working 2-3 months a year to keep full medical insurance?
Medical insurance isn’t cheap and the company has to stay profitable. That’s Kirby’s number one priority and he’s good at it .Paying health insurance for thousands of fa’s who aren’t working?? No bueno. That needs to change and I’m sure it will.Maybe some of the FA’s are being unrealistic with their demands.
I’m obviously missing something but just my $0.02

What you are missing is accuracy. The company does not pay for medical benefits if they do not reach a minimum number of credited hours per month…..(right now that magic # is 40)

If someone’s drops to zero and still has medical benefits it is because they themselves pay for it.

When you send the exact same negotiating committee members in for TA2 as TA1 that was overwhelmingly shot down -well I don’t have much hope of a better TA2.

We may very well be in early openers before they have a workable TA.

Hey, one senior mama said she’s willing to wait as long as she needs to for a better contract. I think you’re right about this one

which is not good.

Despite whatever dysfunction the AFA may seem to have, it does not benefit any UAL pilot to publicly take the company's side or deem FA contract desires as unreasonable.

Got it
Thanks for the clarification. The other person who posted info earlier in the discussion regarding that subject was probably misinformed as well.
