I’m not at all sure a brainstorming session on a public forum meets the criteria for “negotiating in public”. May or may not be against the rules of the website, but in terms of constitutional law, seems pretty clear it’s legal enough. But you raise an interesting question. Probably time for a moderator to give their opinion.

Considering Delta as a similar thread over on their thread, I don’t think the mods care lol

Pretty sure this entire post would be considered negotiating in public and frowned upon by the union. Fill out your surveys, file resolutions with your local councils nd then let the negotiating committee do its job.

Asking to add the best of other contracts, as long as we don't give up anything we already have to get it, is okay IMO.

- Better reassignment language, anything I fly that was not on my schedule when I was awarded the trip should pay XX% extra. I bid that for a reason, if I wanted random trips I would have bid reserve.

- Long sit should not be scheduled only.

- Restoration pay, PTC vs LPV means you pretty much have to wait till next month to get your day if you don't want the money. I know, pretty small thing, but it's things like that, that should be easy to fix.

When the trip is removed from your schedule are you still “scheduled to operate” it?

it says nothing about scheduled. It’s says “a pilot who operates a trip”

Not sure what constitutional law has to do with it? Any time you say “we want xyz“ with respect to upcoming contract negotiations in a thread called “openers” it is the very definition of negotiating in public. You are telling the company what you want to see in the contract and now they have a targets they can go after, however I agree that a mod should step in and give an opinion.

It may or may not be a good idea, that's very situationally dependent.

But we don't have any rules against it here (this forum was actually founded back in the day because certain union folks were silencing dissent on their own forums, for questionable reasons).

I was responding to a post about “scheduled to operate.”

I totally agree, but I also don’t think trips such as that should be available to be bought off.

What? The thing that beats holiday pay is getting to be home from a trip with pay over a holiday.

All my trips are open for being bought off! Bring it!
