Supersix...it is something that is being discussed in contract negotiations. From reading your previous posts, I'm guessing you are an XJT pilot. Your comment about the furloughees not getting longevity credit is based on what?? Your extensive knowledge of the JCBA negotiations??

Longevity credit for furlough time is a very real possibility. The United guys that were furloughed twice are potentially going to be crushed in the SLI. The longevity credit potentially could ease some of that pain.

Time shall tell.

As one of those guys, I would certainly hope you're right. But if the potential contract increases for the senior folk would be one penny less as a result, you know it will be off the table. That's UA-ALPA.

I was furloughed too. ALPA did not get us longevity when we came back. That is my basis. I too am worried about the senior folks selling out the furlughees for a few extra pennies.

The NFL sold out their rookies for better pay for veterans, and new benefits for retirees. It will always be this way.

you get 40% off at IAH mariott. Food isn't that expensive IMO

Perhaps. It was a complicated deal. But the senior guys did get some significant improvements, and those "off the property" so to speak, future hires, will come into a significantly reduced early benefit structure. Sounds a lot like CAL's contract where they gutted years 1 - 5. Why? Because at the time there were very few 1 - 5 folks on the property to vote against it. No medical for a new hire at a major airline?!

NFL teams now have the opportunity to begin signing their draft picks.* This year is very different than previous years because of the tight time frame and new rookie salary cap structure.* All teams will have opened up camp by this weekend and any missing rookies will be at a disadvantage.* Normally by this time of the year the rookies would have gone through a rookie training camp and OTAs.* However, due to the lockout these rookies will be meeting with their teams for the first time.

The rookie contracts look a lot different then years past with less money involved.* However, it appears that the majority of the contracts are being completely guaranteed.* This is an interesting development as it could likely mean players hang on with their original team longer than usual.* This will really impact players not living up to their potential.

I know the example I am using is the extreme but remember all rookie contracts are based on nothing that was accomplish in the NFL.
I also used an extreme example to make a point. Overall I think the NFL union did an admirable job of being unified, holding out for a major plus up contract, and being able to hold their heads high when it was all done. The expanded medical benefits for injuries was noteworthy.

I hope we can do as well. They knew there was a lot of cash out there and didn't let anyone tell them differently.
