UCAL international only?

United Continental Holdings Inc. (NYSE:UAL) which owns both United and Continental airlines said that it will reduce domestic flying and increase International flights.
President and CEO Jeff Smisek said during a meeting with analysts that it plans is to increase international flying as much as demand will support, and to make the domestic network as big as needed to supply passengers to international flights.

So, that's it--everything not international is a feeder. It is clearer now why they want 250 94-seaters. All domestic outsourced. I guess it's part of the larger plan to then outsource the international flying and just be a holding company with no Operating Certificate at all.

More accurately, "make the domestic network as small as needed . . ."

The majority of the combine Pilot Group will not ACCEPT any further SCOPE degradation pertaining to the future JCBA.
Thanks for keeping us out of the dark.

If another run is made at binding arbitration and they succeed, the entire deal will bypass the pilots groups. They want BA badly and they're likely to try again.

Having spoke with my Rep this past week regarding that rumor, 'they', "our powers to be (CAL-MEC)", appear to be very much opposed to the BA.

International only? Not likely. Joint ventures and Star Alliance can do all the international flying.
United could be a couple scope changes away from being nothing but a brand, organizer, and ticket seller. No planes, no pilots.
Its already happening today. Many many passengers buy United tickets from anywhere to anywhere in the world and never step foot on a United airplane. Skywest Boise to Denver, US Airways to Charlotte, and then Lufthansa to Frankfurt.

Nothing of substance to share.
Just phantom paranoia.
