More of an estimation based upon 2172 and the 1000 from Continental. I figure the difference is those who will not return. It's not a hard number by any stretch, but if we have at least 2000, then we have more than half of the number of pilots that voted on the last contract.

I know of one "C"apt at IAD who wears a half wing. He is a great pilot and a pleasure to work with.

In the heydey-being a halfwinger at United was a wonderful thing. I was warmly welcomed and seldom bought a meal or a beer on layovers. Though I had previous airline experience both regional and major - a right seat on the shuttle was a great place to be.
My hat is off to those who provided great mentoring and collegiality. Sorry to say I will probably never wear that uniform again - the world has shifted.

I must have been extremely ****ed because I had the alpa pin upside down on my tie but I never wore the tie and the united wings for the entire last year I was on the property!! I got a lot of funny looks from other pilots when I'd walk through the terminal and from fellow crewmembers when I'd show up to the plane to fly. But fook it- what did did I care?
