Seems to me the cart is before the horse. A strike vote, IMO, should occur before a release request.
I wonder if there is more to the story than what is being led on. Either leadership is truly inept or this is a game of chess. |
Last I heard were crickets.

Not even crickets are this silent. I guess there will be a special MEC meeting to be held on Friday.

A strike vote before release does absolutely nothing. Yes in 1985 we voted to strike months before the release (I don't remember the actual date and it did nothing to accelerate the contract or prevent a strike.
IAM typically would vote at the end of the cooling off period on the contract on the table. Their vote would also include a strike vote so that if the the contract failed it would immediately begin a strike. |

You are absolutely correct. Let's quite popping off rounds at each other and concentrate fire on management where it belongs.

I can only assume that Heppner is trying to see JP cards. Interesting tactic. I want this contract, that is industry leading, done now. However a single MEC putting out that message without the other at this point in time is not good. I don't care what you expect out of this. The only way to gain leverage is to unify the 2 sides. Time will tell what the heck this tactic is. It is obvious to me that we will NOT be released. This is not my wish, only my opinion.
