How'd they even get to talking about regionals? Sounds like Capt. God's Gift to aviation has a personal vendetta against them..to group all regionals together as being unsafe is about as fair as grouping all major pilots together because of a few bad apples..which I know they're out there

The interview failed to make the connection about "safety."

One might say, rather accurately, that safety is impacted because pilots are very distracted in their jobs because they are worried about finances and have not had an agreement for nearly 10 years.

I agree..instead of focusing on what the UAL guys are trying to do, and make the public aware of, it turned into a regional-bashing session

Since when did one successful ditching make you more of a safety "expert" than any other airline Captain?

Yes, And...
Put the "Guppy Killer" Stickers back on your flight bags, that sure made you all feel important.

May want research his resume prior/outside the event on the Hudson.

He's a pretty accomplished/respected pilot in the field of "Safety". Ever heard of "SRM Consulting"?? And "Yes", it was established a few years prior to Flt 1549's landing on the river (Jan, 2009).
SRM — Safety Reliability Methods, Inc.

So yes, I would say he has 'some' respected/formidable background in the safety arena.....maybe even an 'expert'.
