Negotiations....

..and another thing. Concerning the Delta TA, McKeen writes:
"Assuming that tentative agreement is ratified, it will establish new terms and conditions of pilot employment for one of the Company's major domestic competitors. This, in turn, will result in changes to both ALPA's and the Company's bargaining positions."
To which I ask, "Who the devil ever said UCH gets to be the last ones to commit to a CBA??!!!!"
I certainly never agreed to that. FUPM

This is how they plan to run the company for the foreseeable future. Ever defensive and never taking the lead on ANYTHING, except their own pay.
Since Hawaiian announced today they are flying to JFK, I'm surprised we didn't follow up with our announcement of cancelled service from EWR because, "we just can't compete". We are slashing IAH because SWA starts flying international in 2015. What's the difference?

So June 29th now?
From today's DNU:
NMB schedules ALPA negotiations through June 29
Posted June 6, 2012
We held further negotiations with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) in Chicago last week, with negotiations currently scheduled through June 29. National Mediation Board (NMB) Senior Mediator Patricia Sims led the discussions May 29-31.
We are meeting with ALPA again this week in New York with assistance from the NMB’s Mediator and Senior Mediator. The NMB has scheduled these sessions through June 15, 2012, with additional dates scheduled by the NMB June 25 through June 29.

I have'nt seen anything about our negotiations in the DNU for a LONG time. Obviously, they put it in to highlight the 25th-29th, as in "NOT BY JUNE 15th MUTHA FUKCAS". Between this and Fred's letter, they are trying to skate yet again. June 22 will be a big day at American. No telling what will happen over there, operationally. I hope whatever flu they may get is contagious.

So, do we get to strike or not on June 16th?

Are you being serious? Cause it seems pretty clear that the NMB has slid back our 15 Jun deadline..
Not that it matters, I don't believe that we'll be allowed to be released until sometime around Sept/Oct.
Of course, by then.. one of two things will have happened. Either we have a TA (that can pass), or we will have already melted down and UCH will be circling the drain~

Not sure on either questions..
But I would hope/expect a strike vote sometime this month.
Hopefully the turnout next Tues will send the message to the BoD that we have "officially" had enough. Though I wonder if it matters, or if it's not too late already.
All kinds of operational problems lately, major IT issues, more MEL's that I've ever seen, reduction in the quality of service in BF, and overall a lack of caring from many employee groups.
Seems as if the Titanic has actually turned towards the Iceberg.
Oh well

It's all rope-a-dope. They'll try to string this out to get them through the summer, as always, and the pressure's off once the school year starts. It won't work this year.
