Does anyone here actually think this is going to happen?

I think most of us are pessimists... for good reason.

But if the NMB/Obama see the light and do the right thing, we have a chance; otherwise the company has no incentive to get it done and won't. McKeen's letter admits as much. And frankly, I think his letter hurt their case! But the worse they look, the better for us.

The existence of the letter indicates that management believes that there is a decent chance of release and they are taking it seriously. Which I think is good news for us.

Even if they manage to come out with TA on the 15th, I can't imagine it would be the TA that we all want. Contract 02 was slow in coming. Then all of a sudden we were voting on a TA and we had 10 days to vote on it. Never even saw the damn thing till the end. Even then it was bullet points and open ended.

Not even the MECs or JNC think we'll have a TA on the 15th. The ALPA goal seems to be "Agreement in Principle" by mid-June. It will take a "significant amount of time" after that to draft the AIP into contractual language that will form the TA we will vote on.

The get along, play along days are over. I think the fact that UAL AND CAL ALPA are pushing back a management team that has not been used to such actions is a win for us in it self...
McKeen's letter to the NMB was a desparation act. We will soon find out if a 30 day cooling off period will not be enough time per McKeen's letter to close out the remaining items. There are rumors of a NMB press release withing a few days...

Here is to hoping!!

ALPA: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Jeff & Co: I'd say more like one out of a million.
ALPA: So you're telling me there's a chance... *YEAH!*
