On that note, I know some of us are literally banking on new pay rates. If the JCBA never comes through, there's just no way to last at antiquated bankruptcy first year wages for some people. But it's cool, I like ramen. No, not really.
The 6 month no medical is a Lorenzo holdover that needs to go! |

Hey Skippy, I agree, but all I was saying is that I feel longevity pay is something they may use to bargin with. I know DAL got it, and I know UAL can afford it, but here we are.
We'll get it |
I would rather be at 4th year pay, then 1st year pay, that's for sure!

But 1st year pay builds character and 4th year pay doesn't.

I thought 4 years of furlough built character. :)

Don't use first year pay as an excuse not to come over. Too many people have fallen for that trap and now they have 10-15+ years at a regional.
I've been at UCAL for 5 years and it is by far superior to a regional. First 3 years at CURRENT rates were not the most fun but I'm now making more money than I was at the regional I was at. With that said, we need drastic improvements but please look long term. |
The problem is "everybody" is not your 28-32 year old pilot with a very young or no family at all, and minimal financial responsibilities. Most, if not all, are in their 40's, with maturing families, and have major financial responsibilities.
Just another case of pegging a salary $1 more than what the employee would walk away from the career for. Does the company recognize experience and the benefit it brings to the table, or do they view the 28 and 45 year old pilot in the same light? Cheap labor? |
