SLIME BALL S.O.B's..Recall news
Update On Recalls
We are disappointed to announce that the company has now stated that even though furlough recalls are in the plan for 2013, it is not yet ready to make an official announcement. The company's stated reason is that the block hour plan is still in flux and it is not sure exactly how many pilots it will need next summer. The company is not comfortable enough with the numbers even to announce a general number and time frame for recalls, but, nonetheless, was able to forecast a large CAL system bid and announcement of new pilot hiring. The toying with our furloughees’ emotions is reprehensible. The MEC will continue to press management to publish a plan.

This is from the latest UAL MEC update of Today 10-5-12..
All is well move on, nothing to see here. L-Cal is hiring and they've got new hires that are senior in seat and fleet to 15+ year guys at UAL. No problem everything is under control ops normal!

We all know that this was an issue of training vs cost. Want to prevent that, give em longevity or signing bonus, "x" , or u name another big want item
I firmly predict that the new jcba will be implemented on jan 1, and they will not allow cal pilots who are trained or in training..which is whyyyyyyy they will allow another pilot bid in dec to allow people to get their previous ual domicile if wanted... Watch, and that savings will be applied to contract items...like longevity ( bc those savings are directly from the furloughees) and can also benefit the pilot group towards retro/signing bonus.
Skippy
Its a give and take system and it works both ways

Just for argument's sake, what do you think happens if the JCBA fails to ratify? Do ya think that management (CAL management - remember that) is going to do anything other than really play staffing games? Seriously, theses guys have lots of tricks up their sleeve that they haven't even begun to play with pilot's lives. This IS NOT a call to pass any JCBA, rather an open your eyes moment that although L-UAL pilots thought Tilton to be bad, Smisek hates us all even more.

The same "leadership" regime that just posted a large CAL vacancy bid, and has rushed in the new hire process already for NEXT YEARS staffing is waiting until they can forecast UAL staffing shortage numbers better for THIS summer.
The manpower planners at UAL have readily admitted to the UAL System Schedule Committee (SSC) that they need to start recalls in the first quarter. The SSC did what the company does not want to do; Give the furloughed UAL pilots some information for advanced planing...
The company is certainly playing games with the "official" part of the announcement, and YES, that is reprehensible!
