OK here's an answer to two things just posted here.

"Training on days off" refers to getting paid for "distance training." At LUAL the first week of transition training consists of a "Fleet" introduction, CBT (computer based training) of basic aircraft systems and ends with a SKV, "Systems Knowledge Validation." It is not "training on days off" as was stated it is getting "training days" at your home rather than having to travel and sit a a computer screen for a week.

Second LUAL's Trip Trading begins after the monthly bids are awarded and is called the "Big Pick." It is a one time, seniority based, chance to adjust the line award before the moth starts. After the "big pick" starts the trip trading is based on availability to drop, the ability to traded directly pilot to pilot and what's in open flying.

Now the problem with the "list" is when one writes, "training on your days off" he fails to say the pilot do gets PAID DAYS TO DO THEIR TRAINING. It's up to the pilot to deccide which days he/she will actually sit down and do the CBT work. A personal discipline issue.

Spin factories at work on both sides.

Respectfully Regular Guy,

At LCAL "training on days off" does not mean what you think it means. At CAL its loaded on your schedule as an absence from work, and then your days off are pro-rated to compensate. Not Good. That is not a personal discipline issue.

CAL73:

If you read the post it was about a UAL pilot who posted the "leaked" stuff and stated the "days off" and pointed it at LUAL pilots not LCAL. We already know about you do "distance learning." I was answering the poster about what the "leak" may have meant by it.

LUAL has been trying to get at home training in the contract for decades the problem always is they didn't want to pay for it.

I understand you get paid for the "training" and it is up to you to either use the scheduled days or days (the other days off) of your choosing. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Oh. Egg on my face then.. I had a post a few north of yours regarding training on days off so I just assumed... Sorry.
I am speaking specifically about our cqmvloe. It's loaded into pbs ahead.of.the awards and basically eats up days off and screws your bid for.that month. I would post more detail and diatribe, but I hate typing on my phone. Suffice it to that the cal version of training on days off has got to go.

The "training on days off pro-ration" was eliminated in the new DAL PWA....

Now once a Reserve pilot has his month, the days off are normal and training days are pulled from days on call.

It was pro-rated in the previous contract.

Is there a link to download the TA that isn't behind the old Calforums firewall?

Do we know which base voted what? I have a feeling Iah and lax are my heros? No? If correct, they will never buy another meal or beer from me. Lots of pressure on them and did what was right.
Proud to call them my brothers.

This is no time to come in and scream "I told you so!" Please, let's debate the pros & cons of this TA. Let's not fight among each other. Now is not the time to point fingers. UAL/CAL pilots, like it or not, this is your TA. Debate with facts and reason, not anger & insults.

If you want to convince people to vote NO, slinging mud will not hold their attention or sway their vote.
