SCR, Just had some beers with a UAL council rep. Smart fellow. He explained the impossible position The CAL reps put them in....Delay the TA or compromise with Longevity and move on. The latter would give furloughees a 30% + raise (< $10 dollars or so short per hour than if you got full longevity) or hold up the TA because of CAL ALPA's SLI strategy. The choice was hard but clear.

J,POS held us hostage and is the one who slammed our fourloughees on this deal. Surprise surprise... I can't wait for the ISL.
J.P. might want to get himself a bodyguard after this is over...

TA Overview
Actually we are all legally CAL pilots even though we are furloughed from UAL. We are new hires. JPOS as "our" MEC chairman has the legal responsibility to represent out best interest.
Think we all know what is in progress now. Between the TWA DFR and this, ALPA is done.

Exactly. People that think we can turn this down and see another much better deal in 3 months weren't paying attention over the last 3 years. Even after the TA announcement, the company was able to delay things 6 weeks. If I hear the word "synergy" again I just might puke.

...and i"ll do $100 bet with you that we will def see a deal within 3 months if it goes down. IAH 73 fo, I'll stand by my word

This is the first time it is in control of the pilot group. Don't settle for scraps! This does not even match Delta. You are a professional!! Don't let them insult you like that!

Wow, would Duane Woerth would be PROUD of this TA! Unfortunately, I see this abortion of a TA getting voted in while the soft-sisters like Sled look to everyone else to do the heavy lifting and get the contract improvements...

Question: Why does it look like I'll be losing longevity when the Furloughed pilot calculations are finished?
Answer: You are mistaken. No furloughed pilot will lose any longevity, and per LOA 25 longevity for pay can only be INCREASED. Furloughed pilots with longevity for pay of less than 4.7 years will be immediately brought up to 4.7 years at Date of Signing. This means that if they are currently flying at Continental, or if they accept an offer to fly at Continental before the Operational Merger Date (OMD) they will use the year 5 column on the pay charts to determine their pay. After the Seniority List Integration, legacy United Furloughed pilots will have a second adjustment to their longevity for pay based on their position on the Integrated Seniority List, and like the first adjustment, a furloughed pilot’s longevity for pay can only be increased in the second step and will never be decreased. Despite rumors to the contrary, there is no provision in our current contract for furloughed pilots to gain longevity for pay for time spent on furlough; the two-step provisions to gain longevity credit for pay for time on furlough are only included in the Tentative Agreement.
