Default 1000 Reasons to vote yes.

So I'm tired of the misinformation being promulgated on this forum, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to vote yes or not, but I just want simple, genuine discussion of the issues so I'm going to start with the simplest and work from there . . .

Vacation Days:

Contract says some folks lose 2 days, but let's examine the real world case for someone trying to reach 85 hours a month.

The old UAL contract paid 2.8 hours and the new contract pays 3.25 hours so if you had 14 days vacation the old contract gave you credit for 39 hours meaning you had to work 46 hours and under the new contract your have 46 hours of credit so you have to work 39 hours. Net result is you work one day less for every 14 days vacation.

Holy Crap Bat Man the contract is an improvement in vacation even though I lost a day on paper.

O.K. Example number one

How about you ask me about re-assigmnent . . . .

Geez....Joe, I thought you only had 10 minutes a day to spend on this. Do you have a secretary or something?

Just like the TA, this thread falls considerably short of reasons to vote Yes.

This IS a concession for CAL...... our vacation tops out at 44 days at 30+ years and it pays 3:15/day already.

Maybe so but the TA has more total Vacation days over the entire pilot group. So if you're only looking at the top 5%, you're right.

Not defending this POS but we are currently paid 3:15 per day which is 3.25 hours or 22:45. 3:25 per day is 3.42 hours or 23:57. I agree we should not be losing the 2 day but and it should be at least 4:30 a day for vacation pay.

I understand the whole "for the collective good" argument Chris, but the JCBA accrual schedule and pay is identical to CAL's, except it tops out at 42 instead of 44 days now; it is a concession for me that will factor into my final evaluation.

The JCBA pays 3.25, or 3:15 (not 3:25), just as our current CBA does.

Fair enough, since we both get the collect good part, factor in that many lost all there vacation pay benefits longevity for 4 years as you lead up to your final decision. UAL pilots at the top also lost 2 days.

Bs flag alert!!!

"42 instead of 44 days now; it is a concession for me that will factor into my final evaluation."

Ok lerxst question, what is your seniority? Will you gain days, remain the same, or lose vacation days?

I'm a maxed out 34+ year pilot and with the pay increase will actually gain days off during my vacation months. Even with two less days.
Not a concession for me at all.

How does your vacation work and one small item cause you go vote no?
