2. I was clear in my post that IF there was a displacement bid AFTER <SLI> was done, then Section 8-E would apply.

"displace into any Category (except for a Category being phased out as set forth in Section 8-E-7-b ) where a Pilot junior to him holds an assignment" is pretty clear to me. Being awarded a vacancy is voluntary, meaning if you don't bid, you don't get a vacancy. Some guys like to wait for the displacement bid. You go where you can hold (regardless of vacancies). Paid move. No freeze. Like I said. Time will tell.

Sled

I agree displaced pilots can go where ever their seniority holds. Unfortunetly we don't know anybody's seniority at this time. So before u start assuming that there will be massive displacements on the cal side lets just wait and see what the SLI holds.

There won't be any displacements on the CAL side once there is SLI. That's the point of SLI is to create one list.

I was referring to the parking of the old 757s on uals side. If the sli is done before that happens, then the displaced pilots can go where ever their new seniority holds.

As updated from a member of the negotiating team, 6 mo for sli is looking more like a minimum of 9 mo. 1-2 system bids on cal side between now and then, not sure of UAL side.

Not sure how this could be known at this point, even by the negotiating committee. I was under the impression that the mediation process could be skipped altogether if an impasse was agreed to, bypassing the "gates" in Feb and April, allowing an arbitrator to decide the list. If this isn't accurate, I apologize. I thought that is what I had read.

I agree. Based on the TA ratification, the time line for the SLI looked to be pretty much set in stone. Should be done by late spring early summer I believe.

Mind sharing a few stats?

Of course try to be sterile as possible.

age? check airman? total time? current job? military? internal help or professional organization?

^ Im not sure it will matter, those who have interviews upcoming are part of the special group. My buddy has an interview coming up, he won a scholarship from OBAP. He is a 6,000hr or so RJ F/O. I would imagine the upcoming interviews are guys/gals like that, or mgmts kids. I know a lot of high time interns who haven't heard a peep

That's BS. CAL has always had good movement with a small delay for age 65. The delays are caused by both sides and the mediator/arbitrator. Either way, it won't affect the ISL. Let's just blame JP now and get it over with.

LAX pilot. Get over it. Your airline sucked before the merger. It was dying and anyone with half a brain knew it. I'm tired of reading your pompous nonsense and ridiculous accusations. Jay Pierce must be the second coming of Dr. Evil the way you and many UAL pilots make him out to be. Many UAL pilots preached that we must pass this contract in the name of unity, yet you and several others piously preach your garbage. Get on board with all 12000 of us or shut up.

Can we all now just agree that the CAL pilots, the CAL MEC and Jay Pierce were responsible for Benghazi, too, and move on? I guess our Dr. Evil plan to conquer the world has been found out before we could pull it off.
